Study what the exam actually asks

NBME publishes how much of the IFOM CSE comes from each area. Our question bank and timed blocks follow those weights, so your study time goes where the marks are.

Disciplines covered: Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry and Family Medicine.

Questions

Before you join

Are these real IFOM past-exam questions?

No. NBME does not release IFOM papers, and sharing recalled questions breaks the agreement every candidate signs, which can lead to cancelled scores. Our questions are original and written to the same blueprint, style and difficulty, so you learn the reasoning instead of memorising answers.

Who accepts the IFOM CSE?

Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar accepts it for residency with a minimum score of 75 for exams taken from 1 July 2025. The Oman Medical Specialty Board uses it as its only residency entry exam, with scores valid for two years. Many medical schools also use it as an exit exam. Always check the latest rules with your target program.

When can I sit the exam?

NBME runs two testing windows a year at Prometric centres. In 2026 they are 20 March to 27 May (registration in January) and 21 August to 4 November (registration in July). The exam fee is about US$301, paid to NBME directly.

How long should I prepare?

Most working doctors need 8 to 12 weeks. If you are close to graduation or already preparing for USMLE Step 2 CK, 4 to 6 weeks of timed practice may be enough. Your first timed block will tell you where you stand.

Is this connected with NBME?

No. Dr Khalid MedEdu Hub is an independent prep provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NBME.
